Without much fanfare, sixteen oeniphiles from around the country once again gathered in the forest setting of Silver Falls State Park.  The location remained the same, as did everyone's expectations for the evening's event.  First came a NV Salamanazar of Domaine Chandon Brut with some Oysters Rockefeller, soon followed by seared fresh Halibut married to D'Artagnan and a 1986 Morey Mont Luissants Blanc Domaine Ponsot and a 2000 Hospice de Beaune Batard Montrachet.

The group moved to some California Chardonnays, a 1999 Paul Hobbs Richard Dinner Vineyard and a 2000 Pahlmeyer  from Napa.  The wine went well with a Salad of Golden Beet accompanied by some pears with Oregon Blue Cheese, hazelnuts and Raspberry vinegar over arugula.  Back to France to share a 1993 Vogue Bonnes Mares, a 1990 Trapet Chambertin, and a 1998 Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin Clos St. Jacques along with Roasted Partridge with roasted Morel mushrooms and chipoleay onions over a bed of Basmati rice.

After a short "walk in the park" with a 1998 Shea Block 23 Pinot Noir and a 1999 Holloran Le Pavillon Pinot Noir, the fifth course was waiting upon the return to the hall.  A nice Raspberry sorbert in an almond tuile cup satisfied, which was a prelude to Un Plat de Fromage with five reds from Bordeaux, a 1981 Ch. La Mission Haut Brion, a 1978 Ch. Leoville Las Cases, a 1970 Ch. Mouton, a 1988 Ch. Mouton and a 1989 Ch. Leoville Las Cases.  On to the seventh course, Charlie Trottiers' Roasted Morels between layered scalloped potatoes baked in a heavy cream and topped with cheese over mache greens.

The eighth course arrived with much anticipation, a Traeger grilled Prime New York with bearnaise sauce with fresh green beans and roasted tomato stars.  The steak went well with a Jeroboam of 1978 Mondovi Cabernet Reserve, a 1998 Cardinale, and 1996 Dominus, and a 1998 Domeneco Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra.

Dessert, Poached pears marinated in ruby port over Oregon Blue cheese ice cream, was accompanied by a 1970 Fonseca Vintage Port.

All bottles served this evening were in magnums unless otherwise noted.
